| ELECTION IN LADONIA | ||
|
This year the remony will have
the election for presidency for the next three years. As many of you know
Ladonia has been represented since 1997 by president Fernando Rodrigues
and her royal highness queen Ywonne I. Her royal higness will remain on
her throne till the end of time, but our 4 700 citizens will elect the
president. President Fernando from Brazil has declared that he is willing
to take the responsibility for another period. The future of Ladonia will, as it has been since the birth of the nation in 1996, be the war with the Swedes. This year a new trial will take place. Probably Ladonia has become strong enough to survive such threats. Ladonia is governed by the cabinet: the queen, the president and the ministers. As this is about 50 persons one can say that Ladonia is some kind of oligarchy. It has not been possible for any political parties to get political influence. And you cannot speak of Ladonia in terms of right and left. Freedom is the main issue. One could suspect that this is a heritage from German philosophy and Rousseau but it is hardly correct as the idea of freedom is not ideologized by the cabinet. Could one call the political profile empirical? I suppose much of what is going on in the political discussions is too filled with irony. Our minister of sophistry, Horatius made the statement about the election that it should rather be electing a pepsodent and not a president. I don’t think it was just a simple joke. And then the love for idleness; our minister of idleness has been very successfull with spreading the right to this – and that is very unusual in other countries and in political systems. The president is a part of this system and cannot act in any important questions without the blessings of the cabinet. The production in Ladonia is above all creating and distribution of information. It is open for our citizens to candidate for this election. The exact time for the election is not decided but will probably take place in two or three months. Candidates have to send their names and their program to the state secretary: lars.vilks@swipnet.se |

| EXHIBITION BY THE MINISTER OF ART | ||
|
The minister of art, Fredrik Larsson has made an
exhibition of photos at: http://www.erotikmassan.com/bodylanguage He describes the show in this way: The basic idea with the exhibition is to show the feelings occurring between two people in a meeting that goes on to a relationship. I wanted to catch, in short glimpse of heaven and hell, the different moments and experienced feelings in a meeting between two individuals, but showing this without the revealing expression of the face. This is the reason why I choose to call this "Bodylanguage". These pictures are not erotic in the sense that it is the goal. It is a series of pictures to be looked upon as a whole. They are showing a meeting between two persons and the relationship their meeting form. So of course there's eroticism, but that's not the whole point of it. There is frustrated waiting, boredom, hope, expectations, happiness, joy, passion, doubt, anger, hate and all those feelings people have and acquire for each other over the time. This is a universal story, it can be any two persons, and that's why I used several different models. Take your time to explore the picture in the order they follow in the Exhibition and recognize the different feelings that the silent but oh so expressive and ever-present bodylanguage pronounce. This is the Artministers first publicly known exhibition. His more recent background involving professional contact with multimedia is probably the reason till why he choose to expose his exhibition on-line. Fredrik is also a closet-author with none published material (so far) and have for instance been working as a carbuilder, chauffeur, technical illustrator, technical editor and freelance writer. His vast interest in art spans over many areas where photo is but one technique. |

| EDUCATION WAR | ||
|
Minister of unschooling, Gunnar Jarl, has borught forward
the important question about the freedom of education in Ladonia. The
Swedes want the children of the Jarl family including the two
princesses: ”Dear nation! One issue that could definitely arrest interest from media is the ongoing Swedish harassment of the royal family. As you all know, the Ladonian style of education is through natural imprinting, keeping ourselves far away from conformistic institutions like schools. My family is practicing this beleif of how true learning is taking place. So far this has been silently accepted by the local Swedish authorities, that still thinks that Far Ladonia is a part of Sweden. But because of a recent interest from local media and repeated criticism from the Swedish department of education, the local school board suddenly decided to take a decision regarding our Ladonian way of educating our children. Since "school is compulsory" in Sweden, they think they have a say about how the Ladonian royal family is carrying out such education. February the second they hastily came up with a desicion to not give their permission, wich they are forced to do according to Swedish shool law (SFS 1985:1100, 10 kap 4 §). This means that they now can enjoin our children to go to shool (the Swedish school closest to us). If we do not obey this they can eventually impose a fine of SEK 200 per child and week and parent. But the local school board in our kommun is quite reasonable. They are abiding a desicion of the county court before they take any further steps. Naturally we have appealed against their decision with both legal and scientific proof for our case. But we don't indulge in any expectations that the county court will listen to reason. Recent cases have proven their incompetence. So we will probably end up in the court of appeal some time during spring. Thus another eon has begun last February 2 - the eon of the royal educational war. The war is not just about our own specific situation.We take it further and makes it a war of human rights. Isn't it a human right of the parents to ensure education and teaching in conformity with their own religious and philosophical convictions? Since I quoted the European Convention it is not just a human right, it is also protected by European law. Nevertheless, Swedish authorities pretends that those kinds of binding documents don't exist. So the royal Ladonian family is bound to go to war to ensure that those human rights are protected. Ladonians all over the world should have the right to naturally imprint their children the Ladonian way! In Sweden as in some other countries social service authorities soetimes thinks they have the right to interfere with families that don't conform with the rest of society. If this should be the case for us, we will go into exil in England, where families with similar educational beliefs are left alone to prosper. WAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL! Gunnar, Jarl of Far Ladonia” (For those who doesn’t know ”Far Ladonia”, i.e. the Ladonian colony south of Stockholm. |

| LADONIAN SOAP | ||
|
Minister of history, count Torby has reported some interesting
research which led him to a surprising discovery: ”During a documentary work in a smithy in Oskarshamn, I found, to my greatest astonishment, a soap that immediately drew my attention. It was called ’Ladon 2’. Obviously it was popular among the blacksmiths.” Being the historian he is, count Torby has thought a lot about this soap and its origin. It seems clear that we here have another clue to Ladonia before the independance. Probably soap made by seaweed from the Ladonian shore. Count Torby does not give any specific date for the soap but one could guess that this is at least 50 years old – and that is a sensation as hardly anything is known about Ladonia in the 1950s. Ladonians at that time made soap and one can suppose that they also cleaned themselves with some of it. A cleanly people with industrial ambitions.

| NELSON’S ASHES | ||
|
Nelson was borned in the Zoo of Kolmaarden in Sweden on
the 11th of February 1995. He was a rhinoceros but suffered from a severe
illness which gave him a short life. During the nine days of his life he
became extremely popular through all the reports on his helf that were
shown on television. When he died on the 20th of February he gave life to
a Nelson-Clubben in Haessleholm in the south of Sweden. This club received
some of the ashes from the cremation of Nelson and this together with a
commemorative plaque has been donated to Ladonia. It will very soon be a
thing worth seeing in Ladonia. |

AT THE END OF THE
DAY A word from our Minister of Health |
||
|
Most remarkable thing happened - last Herald was
published without a single paragraph from the Ministry of Health, and was
still quite interesting. No doubt the fall of Wotan's Tower had released a
lot of inspiration. The eye witness report of our Lord of Nails and
Invisible Light was awesome - and being the only witness, truly he had
been chosen by Old King Ladon to assume the archetypal role of Ismael, the
survivor to tell the tale, like once about Captain Ahab & Moby Dick -
and how well this disaster conforms our own New Year Prophecy issued by
the Ministry of Health in the Herald before last, using the I CHING three
coins method: "Thunder under Mountain" - Naturally, the mountain concerned
was not the 0.4 billion years old one our Minister of Philosophical
Fishery so eloquently described in last February issue, the shoulder onto
which Ladonia leans, it was a man made mountain, the greatest and boldest
of them all, Wotan's Tower, the one our Minister of Philosophic Fishery
himself had helped to erect collecting large beams washed ashore back in
1988 as he was visiting while globe-trotting around between the five
continents with Great Visions from America - and mostly his very
peculiarly very own. Now, Wotan's Tower reminds me of dreams sometimes recorded in young men dreaming they have giant erect phalloses (Note, in Greek it is more fallooo:s than pha´llos, as we pronounce in the Victorian manner, erraneously swallowing this charged word as quickly as possible - compare Our Presiden's Waaaaaaaaaaaaal to a coquettish sounding va´l - va'l, va'l....Waaaaaaaaaaaal !! - get the difference?). Well, this Giant Phaloo:s made it's last stand in an orgie of fray and rythmical thrusts from theQueen of All Oceans, our beloved Mare Ladonia, like all oceans forgetful of her moods from one day to another and violent in her desire for thrusting power, with proudly rising dancing waves, noontime glittering in Apollonic Ladonian Sun - Oh Great Desire, Be Praised, Be Praised, Time will be Born from your Last Thrust, the thrust of Release... And the first moment of Time is Silence - born out of Male Sadness. Like the remnants of Wotan's Tower spread all along the wide path of King Ladon's dying Giant Wave, every phalloo:s must die in its very moment of ecstasy, and enter Silence, where all strong men become tender as their Land of Silence slowly transforms to The Land of Oblivion. And such is the Ocean too, His Companion, His Consort, one day a gale, the next she remembers nothing and is smooth and silent like a mirror, and now in wintertime a mirror embracing immobile rocks from below and merging with slate colour skies which are supported by no sharp horizion demarcation line at all, only the rocks and the shoulder of our mountain have definite form. But not entirely silent - in Ladonia the silence is broken by hammering - you can hear it from afar, and as you get closer it rings more energetically and you can see through the fringe of our naked woodlands how out there at the waterfront a New Wotan's Tover is rising again, already quite proudly, from the berth of the old one. This is the Master expressing Masculine Mystery in its very essence - how Exstasy brings Contemplation, and Stillness brings Action - in this Most Eternal of All Eternal Cycles, the Eternal Phallic Cycle.
