| THE GRAND TRIAL | ||
| On August 27th the next trial against Ladonia will take place. The court will start to walk down to Ladonia at 9.30. The former landowner wishes to destroy all of the famous items in Ladonia: Nimis, Arx 1, Arx 2 and Omfalos. | ||
| The former landowner is an organisation with its chairman count Jörgen Ehrensvärd. This organisation is supporting science and art but is now involved in something different: the distruction of artworks. The count has been offered a position as minister of protocol. He is probably not willing to accept this generous offer as he hasn't answered. | ||
| Will the destruction take place? Do we have a serious threat against Ladonia? We hope that some answers might be given at the end of this month. | ||
| In this history of trials against the pieces in Ladonia it should be said that the courtcases have been goaing on since 1982. At least a dozen sentences have been declared. Now it is a try to start all over again. It will be magic theater. Everyone is welcome to visit this important event. | ||

| THE CONCERT | ||
| The annual concert in Ladonia took place on the 1st of August. It was again a great success for the minister of jazz, Margareta Granvik. Her arrangement has been carried out twice before, but this time the artists and the audience were greeted with fine weather, sunny and warm. A large audience of about 150 had found their way down to the cliffs of Ladonia. This time it was also possible to watch and listen to the concert from boats, 14 boats had anchored in order to follow the event. | ||
| Blues Ladies and Janne opened with "A Train" and went on with "Time after Time", "Summertime" (Jazzminister, Katarina Persson, Helen Åström, Jeanette Sollén and Jan Zedenius). The two saxofonists Staffan Holmin and minister of brain Tiit Mathiesen performed "Tender Madness", "All of me", "King Ladon blues" and more. On the drums were to be found Mattis Olsson, Roine Sangenberg, Catharina Bobeck; on spoons Torkel Stålhand. | ||
| Jessica Lindell danced in the Hall of Justice, Nicolas Rodrigues played classical guitar. | ||
| Last but not least is to mention Dick Heijkensköld playing his double bass in most of the numbers. He carried this huge instrument up and down the steep slopes of Ladonia. For the first time in Ladonian history it was possible to watch and listen to a double bass at the shore! | ||

| THE PYRAMID | ||
| If any readers have been visiting the pyramids at Gizeh lately you might have been able to see that one top of the north pyramid is missing. This has been conquered by our bold citizen Franc Ciber. The piece of the pyramid is now a part of the national treasure. | ||

| CARL BILDT AND YLVA MARIA THOMPSON DID IT | ||
| They did not arrive on the same day but both of them did it: Carl Bildt, politician, party leader and negociator, Ylva Maria Thompson, goddess of love, both of them visited Ladonia in July. And both of them were very enthusiastic about Ladonia and its artworks. | ||

| NEW MINISTER | ||
| Ladonia has accepted a minister of art, Fredrik Larsson. He presents his ministry in this way: | ||
| Since I have a big personal interest in the field I would like to write you in a haste and humbly apply for the post and appointment as Minster of Art. I would very much like to instate, establish and manage this (so far) nonexisting ministry. I think it´s an absolute vital post that has to be present in a land so rich in history and culture as Ladonia. It will also help us establish contacts in other conuntries and stir up interest for our sake and mission on levels others than the usual official ways (and so far regretfully pretty hostile, at least when it comes to our second closest country - sweden. Skåne seems to be more friendly...). | ||
| Anyway. Forgive me for rambelling, but I also want to say that I already have a few exciting ideas about possibilities for exhibitions, and of course art in its making on location, in Ladonia, our proud new world and homecountry. And of course the exhibitions should be made equally accessable for all Ladonians and it´s cybervisitors over the net. | ||

| THE MARRIAGE | ||
| Pictures of the marraige was promised in the last Herald. Here they are reminding us of an unforgetable day when two ladonian citizen were married in the Hall of Justice. | ||
| Concerning the formalities about marriages in Ladonia our minister of accomodation, Thomas Diestel, has made this statement: | ||
| "But we should not make any laws on marriage and drinking, leave all that to the "old world". Don't forget that Ladonia's time-honoured privileges are: | ||
| "total freedom of speech, sex and liqour"! | ||
| People who start to drink or get married, must be either naive, very young or just drunk! And that's a good start for a new relationship!" | ||

| HARTMANBURG | ||
| Marquis James von Hartman, MLP, Minister of Future Science has suggested and got a part of Ladonia named as "Hartmanburg". It is a part of west Ladonia up to the swedish border. | ||
|
|
||
| MISSILE | ||
| Do we need a missile in Ladonia to be able to start peace talks? Vice president Erik Ekan Johansson is not enthusiastic: | ||
| "okey, call me a hippie, but if we're gonna have a missile, it just has to be a love missile.... Maybe we could make a giant missile of roses, Which when it blows, send roses to the troops invading our beloved country...." | ||
| And minister John Parman gives the same signal (and he tells us a dream he had: | ||
| "my computer is slow, but it can tell me that Ladonia soes not need missiles. | ||
| Also, I had a strange dream last night that I was in Oslo and I jumped in front of a bullet destined for the king. (what does this mean for John Parman?)" | ||

| LADONIA NATIONAL FOOTBALLTEAM INTO FIFA? | ||
| One of our new citizens is right now doing a good and interesting job in presenting Ladonia soccer team for Mr Blatter in Switzerland. He tells us (in french): | ||
| Ca me ferait énormement plaisir d`obtenir de l`accord de la FIFA. Nous avons des fortes chances pour ca, car actuellement je suis le chef de presse de la fédération hongroise, et je connais trés bien Mr. Blatter, en plus son conseiller numero un, Michel Platini est un de mes trés bons ami. | ||
| Je suis méme certain de pouvoir obtenir notre - si je peux me considerer déja comme citoyen ladonien - candidature dans un premier temps, et je vais contacter l`ambassador du Ladonia en Hongrie pour qu`il puisse me donner quelques objets pour que je puisse emmener avec moi á Zürich pour Monsieur Blatter. Je pourrais ensuite organiser NOTRE séléction du football avec des joueurs hongrois qui n`ont jamais étés internationaux hongrois, ainsi / selon les régles internationaux | ||

| AT THE END OF THE DAY
The higher blends with the lower to actualize the middle. Everybody who works on himself or herself lives in more worlds than one. Holy Teachers have moved beyond eternity. It is our task to colonize eternity. In Eternity are timeless webs of our fates which we can use to create our individualities, nobody else can do that for us. The Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount will lead the first steps along the way. We need to accept reality, our true position without any excuses, we are poor in spirit, victims of endless chains of illusions about ourselves and the world. The lower provides illusion, the middle the dust where we leave our footprints, and the higher eternity, but beyond eternity there is yet a totally unconditioned world, to ensure freedom of will. Eternity is only "timeless", the next middle between ourselves fighting our dearest illusions about ourselves, and real freedom of will... On Cornwall (August 11) The Moon blends with the Sun and actualizes an Eclipse. The Moon is the lower, the world of illusion, our spurious convictions about our own powers, the Sun is much higher, beyond Eternity, the Old Egyptian Ra God and Christ, and Eternity is in between, but above the Dust where we walk. It is neccessary not to fall back towards the Moon and Illusions - however beautiful it is on its stately mysterious path in August nights.
