I think that even writing mail is too much action for our "beloved present". He has acted as if dead for a long time now.
I think we should radically POLARIZE Ladonia into two parts, the Activists and the Passivists. We already have a president and also a Queen. They are both Passivists. (I don't even remember if we still have a queen...)
Ladonian government as a whole is also Passivistic (not pacifist). All we do from time to time is accepting new ministers. We are GROWING -- how very original! The same goal as everybody else has, even Sweden.. And, mind you, this goal is *quantitative*, not qualitative.
Because of this passive "all talk, no action-attitude" many good people have tired of Ladonia. What a pity.
I have a suggestion.
Let's divide the government into two parts: ACTIVE and PASSIVE, ON and OFF. Let us realize that the active side is dormant. To balance this I suggest that Ladonia should have a King. Let me tell you how i got this idea.

Kings rule not by law for that law-giving capacity has long been removed
from the monarchy. Kings rule by initiatives. The king proposes an
initiative. This gets widely promulgated. If people want to follow the
initiative they do so. The effect can be as powerful as law.
The difference is that laws are all about 'what you should not do'. That
has always been the essence of law because it is the essence of
civilisation: control people's behaviour so that they can get along
together. In contrast initiatives are all about 'what should you do'.
While I am King of Launceston I intend to put forward an number of
initiatives. If people like these initiatives and pick them up then they
cab enter general usage. There is currently no mechanism in society with
exactly this function. "

When I read this text (by Edward de Bono) I thought, I also want to be King. Take initiatives, start projects, create *movement*. Let the president and the queen do nothing -- they do that well -- but let there also be action, energy, DOING. I realize this is not very Taoistic, but who cares? The Tao can live with that.
Ladonia could be a country with a active king, and a passive president and queen. One-active-Yang, two-passive-Yin. This could create some balance, and also a way out from the present lethargyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....

Our bodies are given. Our inner worlds are incomplete. We have no inner unity. We are in a precarious situation. The seed of unity resides in Spirit. If we go deeper, the conscious and unconscious both fall on this side of existence, while Spirit alone roams the unfathomable beyond. Its working has many names, one is the Tao. We touch three basic worlds, the most powerful of which does not exist, but visits existence. The unconscious is our place, here our souls grow.
ESSAY.
Find the most insightful leader within yourself who is a martial artist (a favourite personal image of the father of processwork psychology, A Mindell), someone who will use her full awareness to follow and not repress issues so they become terrorist attacks, someone who can feel all sides, yet not be in conflict herself‰ (from Arnys & Amys letter to the POP community, September 2001), i.e. find someone with overview, and „remember that mainstream thinking is the way you think when you react without much awareness (ibid.).
Thus many "leaders" are considered, or impulses ready to pronounce „I in us and mainstream thinking is only reacting, or what ancient wisdom calls for waking sleep, either entirely robot-like, or emotionally habitual according to "likes and dislikes". Only with inner overview real consciousness is possible, the highest degree of which is an altered state beyond words with direct perception of relations as they are.
When in therapy we are encouraged to become that something troubling us another quite different mode of being is suggested creativity because, in the flow of that great force no separation exists between creator and the created. It is beyond consciousness, beyond reacting, beyond life. But something much simpler could be mistaken for creativity, and even the inner overview authority involves uncertainty, maybe this too could prove an illusion, maybe, God forbid! it could be just played by one part in ourselves, among all the little particles ready to claim I, watching another part and trained to do so in accordance with the theory applied!! Where is the guarantee it isn´t so? If for example all our emotions available at a certain time watch all mentally associative process at the same time, the experience would be quite vivid, and easily mistaken for a mysterious revelation, or a "big moment", as the jargon goes. This shows how vulnerable we are before inner unity is reached, or a vessel for the soul that actually holds us together rather than confuses us with everything else out there in the collective unconscious.
The recent psychological message that we are no more than imagined personal roles and in a deeper sense a shared group mind in the collective unconscious (A Mindell, Quantum Mind) indicates how this psychology has got the hang of something precarious in being human such as we usually are, but also, that nobody in the ranks of that psychology's theory making finds inner unity to be an issue. Either it is supposed that everyone has some kind of unity, despite the evidence, or it is simply supposed that we are all parts of one big anthropos, with six billion limbs, some more "privileged" than others.
In experiments influencing matter, such as successful consecutive predictions of which face a tumbling die will turn upon coming to rest, a strong emotional commitment is useful, but it's even better to concentrate on a vision of the desired outcome, and then to leave behind whatever conscious metacomunicator there could have been to assist, and merge with the vision, a technique I have used time and again with statistically significant results. It seems to work best while some certain "brain fuel" is present, usually in the morning, after a good nights sleep. One brings oneself to as conscious a level as possible, and then merges with the act, the experiment itself, in an attempt to mobilise creativity. Since this works, all parts of the experiment must be connected in one universal field and for a fortunate moment directed by spirit probably not directly, but close enough for statistical significance.
Merging with an act leads beyond measuring, counting, grammar, and consciousness. Creativity is possible where spirit enters. If we want to bring about something entirely new, we must transcend consciousness, and go beyond the dualism of somebody being aware of something. We must leave the universal field and existence altogether. This is why creativity often comes to us when we relax and leave the problem at hand, make ourselves unconscious, as it were. Then spirit can work autonomously. Consciousness disorganises Œde novo creativity. The spiritual realms are not the same as the unconscious, to be found in the NCR field they are beyond, free and unconditioned, or the Tao that cannot be said in the ancient language adopted by modern Western taoists.
The Universe is existence, the spiritual realms are beyond existence. The universal field, where we may dream together and look like an enormous group interaction (ibid.), belongs to existence, to life, in fact it looks like a cosmic farmers field, enormous in scope, where our souls can grow. We are born with our bodies and physical heredity. This is given, very much material and real in a very densely conditioned world, almost deterministic. We mature, get conditioned by our culture, education, friends and kin, we form a system of conditioned responses, we develop an intricate machinery, with something deep inside that seems alive, however tiny and entirely inhibited by external conditionings, like a Japanese "bonzai tree", in no way free to create after our own head, we only mark time, life passes its course outside, while the whole inner and outer arrangement probably becomes used to an illusion that there is free will and free choice, but the dire fact of the matter is that our freedom is not much greater than spending all our life in an armchair in front of a television box.
But that entity inside is dreaming. It is still planted in the cosmic field. All the properties of various psychological drives apply to people such as described above this is how we are and what we are not very much, I would say barely more than empty shells with taken identities and parts of a bewildering non-differentiated group mind consisting of anything around, local or non-local, with no permanent strong centre of our own, every impulse pronounces "I", but there is no permanent real I without quotation marks in our centre in awakened connection with spirit. Thinking and feeling man has not yet come of age. We are but tiny essences hidden within very large acquired personalities, which make us function like machinery when buttons are pressed on the lowest possible level while breathing and aware of sense perceptions.
As long as somebody born to the universe has no real I in his soul in making, he has no real identity, he identifies with a group mind in group process of whatever around but not entirely his dreaming is also there for realising his own uniqueness which is a spiritual value all qualities as contrasted to measurable quantities belong to spirit, they are not divided or multiplied, not countable (and not Œcounted; see Arnold Mindell, Quantum Mind) and manifesting his unique quality in existence might be the purpose of his arising in the universe in the first place. In his dreaming state, signals reach him from the unknown, in mysterious ways, and he does his best to understand them, with his experience, and add to that experience, and in such a way our souls grow. I would be very surprised if there was not given help as well, substantial help, by spirit.
Interactions with this process are and should be made in as mindful a manner as possible. However, any theory propagated as truth and obligations laid on people based on such theories must be regarded with utmost suspicion. As long as large scale group conflict resolution is presented as a pragmatic means to release tension between communities hostile to each other, there is nothing wrong with it, although I have seen activist facilitators occasionally abuse suitable victims in group conflict. Nothing is perfect. The whole Creation is imperfect, full of life and hazard, simply for the reason that uncertainty alone can oppose determinism in our dense material world. This we accept. But it is a different matter to impose imperatives on people motivated by personal interpretation of deeper reality. What happened on September 11, 2001 was not necessarily caused by marginalisation of Moslem values, as many modern psychologists in vogue preached, or even retaliation for making Palestine to somebody elses "promised land", it could simply have been an act of pure evil, where frustrated young men, the reasons of frustration immaterial, simply were used for destructive purposes. Most people don't have inner unity, virtually nobody has, as we have reasoned above, but there is no guarantee that someone capable of creating organised large scale evil hasn't access to creative will, which belongs to spirit, beyond NCR and our dreambodies. Evil, too, may have a deceptively beautiful face, and originate from realms far beyond our reach.
The great value of psychology is its investigation of the unconscious. On this level we have enough on our plates for a long time. What lies beyond Creation is for tomorrow, when we might have souls and creative will, and the Zoroastrian command to support the good forces against evil might begin to make sense for us on a profounder level.
